Well, my name if you haven’t worked it out already is Mark Dalton, and I am the owner of this, the markdalton.co.uk web site.

I am employed by COLT Telecommunications as a Senior Manager within IT Operations where I am responsible for a number of ITIL processes including, Incident, Problem, License, Change, and Configuration Management, as well as the outsourced European Desktop support contract for the 5000+ COLT users situated in the 13 COLT countries. During my time with COLT Telecommunications I have held a number of externally and internally facing technical positions, and more recently spent 13 months in Gurgaon, India managing COLT’s 2nd level support team of 50+ engineers who provide 24×7 support to COLT’s critical systems. Prior to joining COLT Telecommunications I worked for Ask Jeeves, the Compaq Computer Corporation, and the Digital Equipment Corporation also in a variety of technical roles.

I setup the markdalton.co.uk site in about 2002/2003 so I could play around and learn some of the new Internet technologies of the time. Since then it [the site] has gone through many changes and now serves mainly as a place for me to share news and the like with family and friends.

I love to sail, dive, and travel, and am an avid reader, although these days I tend to listen to Audio Books, At home I am a Mac user and love to spend time playing with photo’s and video, and of course my website.
