My name in case you haven’t worked it out already is Mark Dalton. I was born in 1975 in the town of Basingstoke, England, where I still live today. I am a lover of gadgets, a wannabe photographer, a frustrated superhero, and the owner of this, the markdalton.co.uk website.
I am the Managing Director of The Tech Lounge, a growing IT Consultancy that specialises in the Design, Implementation, Support, & Maintenance, of custom solutions for individuals, small and medium-sized businesses, schools, and charities. You can find out more about The Tech Lounge on our website.
Prior to starting The Tech Lounge I worked for Colt Technology Services where I held a number of externally and internally facing managerial and technical positions, and in 2007 spent 13 months living in Gurgaon, India, managing Colt’s Indian based support team of 50+ engineers who provide 24×7 support to Colt’s critical systems.
I was made redundant from Colt in December 2011, and decided that I really wanted to get back to being hands on with technology, and provide a far superior service than I had seen larger companies offer.
Prior to joining Colt I worked for Ask Jeeves, the Compaq Computer Corporation, and the Digital Equipment Corporation in a variety of technical roles. If you wish to know more about my professional life you can find the details over on LinkedIn.
I setup the markdalton.co.uk site in 2002 so I could play around and learn about some of the new Internet technologies of the time. Since then it [the site] has gone through many changes and now serves mainly as a place for me to share news and the like with family and friends.
I love to travel, sail, & dive, I hold the PADI Open Water, PADI Advanced Open Water, and the PADI Enriched AIr Diver Tickets, and do about anything that involves water or getting wet. At home I am a Mac user who loves to spend time playing with photo’s and editing video.
