With my health slowly returning to normal I have been trying to catch up with a few of those jobs around the house that have been neglected, including my “Garage Project“.
Now my “Garage Project” is not a new project. It’s a project that dates back to the day I moved into the house and decided that the garage was a great place to store all the stuff that I didn’t know where to put.
As you can imagine that basically meant the garage became a dumping ground and I have for a long time wanted to use the space for something useful, but this was put on hold when I was taken ill.
Now when I was taken ill I rediscovered my love of Lego. Not being able to get out and about, and spending large amounts of time in bed, Lego took my mind off the pain and allowed me to focus on something. The downside to this was I quickly amassed a large collection of Lego and didn’t really have anywhere to lay it out properly.
As I now try to catch up with those jobs around the house it made sense to start with the garage, and now I had a reason.
So last week my Dad took the lead and helped me clear out and clean the garage, get rid of all the junk, and paint the boring grey breeze blocks that make up two walls. I really don’t think I could have done it with out his help and guidance. I hate DIY at the best of times, and one of the main reasons is I don’t have a clue what I am doing. My Dad however know’s every little trick in the book, and always makes it look so easy. (Thanks Dad!)
Today I started moving the Lego in. It’s not going to be a quick job, mainly because I want to get the layout right, but I shot this brief video on what I have done so far. Enjoy and let me know what you think via the comments.

Harsh Julie, Harsh! It’s early days but there is a lot of work (play) ahead and no doubt it will change at least a dozen more times at least, but hey that’s half the fun.
