So since my last entry I have been struggling with what can only be described as apathy. This isn’t entirely unexpected as the steroids I have been on have really been fuelling me up until now. As I come off them (I am now down to a daily 15mg dose) it’s up to my body to take over, but there is an adjustment period so it’s a question of time, and waiting. I have however got used to this waiting thing so rather than fight it I have just enjoyed the down time.
Today however I needed to get out. I had no set plan other than grocery shopping and a trip into town to pick up my nephews birthday present for tomorrow. Once that was done though I still couldn’t sit still, so after a spot of lunch I grabbed the camera and headed out. I wasn’t really sure where I was going, but for some reason I wanted to be near water, so headed towards the old Basingstoke canal. It’s a shame that you can’t actually walk more of the canal but to be honest I wasn’t there to walk so I grabbed the camera and the monopod and set off.
It was a lovely day and while I only spent about half an hour there, most of which was spent fiddling with the Canon D7 I still really have no idea how to use effectively, I really enjoyed myself and somehow felt more connected to the world around me. It’s surprising how isolated you can feel when your ill no matter how many people you have around you. Any way here are some of the pictures I took. Like I said, I am still playing with the camera so no awards just yet.
